All our staff are trained to be aware of environmental issues. We ensure that we comply with current environmental legislation. We continuously monitor and review our performance to meet the current voluntary standards ISO 14001 and FSC Certification.

Abacus have achieved FSC Chain of Custody

When a printer holds the FSC Chain of Custody and the paper used in a project is FSC certified the end product can be labeled as FSC certified. This certificate is about the fibre tracking process and ensures that there is no contamination between FSC and non-FSC material.

Abacus Printing Company is proud to announce that we have successfully attained ISO 14001:2004. An internationally recognised Environmental Management System.

Abacus Printing Co Ltd has been certified to ISO 14001:2004 for the following scope: The environmental management of all operations at the Islington site, including studio and plate-making, digital and lithographic printing and finishing operations. Certification is subject to periodic surveillance and re-assessment. We are now using vegetable based inks on all of our work

Vegetable oil based inks can be made from a variety of sources including soy-bean, corn and linseed oils. By replacing mineral oil with vegetable oil, this means that we can reduce or even cut out volatile organic compounds.
